WHY:                    Northwest Arkansas’ story of entrepreneurial spirit and economic success is nothing short of inspiring.  Anchored by industry leaders Walmart, Tyson Foods and J.B. Hunt, and public sector post-secondary institutions like the University of Arkansas, John Brown University and NorthWest Arkansas Community College, the region’s economic performance consistently outperforms its peers.  While large employers still provide the foundation for the local economy, they’ve given rise to innovative new small and mid-sized companies that are driving our growth today.

Northwest Arkansas has a diverse, growing workforce of more than 250,000, and the community has recently been ranked by Forbes magazine as one of top 20 regions in the nation for business and careers. According to the 2010 Census, its population grew from 239,464 in 1990 to 473,810 in 2012, and wage growth significantly outperformed state and national averages during that time as well.

Local leaders have created this conference to prepare the next generation of leadership and strengthen the region’s workforce development system to ensure that story continues. For more information visit www.tomorrowsleadersnwa.com or facebook.com/tomorrowsleadersofnwa
